Problem with Static IPs in OS X/OS X

Hello,

I am running an OS X 10.8 guest in an OS X 10.8 host, using VMWare Fusion. We want to assign static addresses for all the machines.

The host the following, working, configuration:

Manual

IP-Address 10.224.66.216

Subnet: 255.255.254.0

Router: 10.224.67.254

The guest has the following configuration, with which we are having problems

VMWare Net: Bridged

IP-Address 10.224.66.217

Subnet: 255.255.254.0

Router: 10.224.67.254

The interesting thing is, I can ping and access the HOST (216) from the guest (217), but not vica versa.

In VMWare, the Enternet card is listed with an IP Address of 10.244.66.216

Do I need to change anything else?

The goal is that the host and guest(s) appear as individual devices on the network. The IP Addresses are specifically assigned to these (virtual) machines. There is no DHCP involved

Thanks

Alex
